Meet our official mascot, thirteen year-old vizsla/weimaraner mix O. Byron!
"Byron will do for beaded jewelry what the chihuahua has done for tacos," says Dunitz & Company president Nancy Dunitz, explaining why her canine companion was chosen as the company's mascot. "The versatile traits of Byron's breeding - the vizsla's sporting ability, lovable personality and natural affinity for the show ring combined with the weimaraner's grace and bold nature - mirror the brand identity I'm trying to project for my line. My line runs the gamut from fashionable and functional pouches to sporty accessories to elegant, eye-catching evening designs."
Calling upon his inherent "show ring" nature, Byron recently donned some of the newest Dunitz designs for a fashion photo shoot. Some of these poses can be seen throughout our website.
But it's not just good looks that landed the mascot position for Byron. He also plays a key role in the day-to-day operations at Dunitz & Company. Responsibilities include:
- Announcing the arrival of delivery people
- Rifling through packing materials
- Mistaking certain office supplies for dog toys
- Offering his opinion on new introductions - tail wagging, sniffing/snorting, licking, barking and in some cases, whining.
